TYLER, Texas, Sept. 3, 2026 — Sabeer Nelli, founder and CEO of Zil Money, is calling for a broader conversation about what young founders need beyond ambition. Silicon Jeri has also reported that a small number of nearby engineering colleges have begun sending students into startups on the campus for internships, mainly through informal faculty relationships rather than a formal placement program. The organization describes the effort as small and still developing.
Nelli believes efforts like these matter because entrepreneurship does not begin only when a founder raises outside capital. It can begin earlier, when someone gets the opportunity to see how a company operates, speak with an experienced builder or test an idea with people outside the classroom.
His broader message is that communities interested in developing more entrepreneurs should think beyond encouraging young people to start companies. They should also consider how easily those builders can reach mentors, customers, workspaces and people with practical business experience.
For Nelli, the goal is not to guarantee that every idea succeeds. It is to make sure promising builders have a fairer opportunity to learn whether an idea can work.
