Online learning platform’s student’s exam results outperform national average. Again.

Across the UK, GCSE and A-level students have now received their results – the culmination of two years hard work.

And, once again, at both GCSE and A-level, the results reported by the students of one online learning platform – MyEdSpace – have significantly outperformed the national picture.

MyEdSpace’s 2026 GCSE results at a glance

At GCSE level, MyEdSpace’s students achieved more than double the number of grade 9s compared with the national average (12% v 5%). That pattern was repeated across the top end of the grade scale where 45% of the online school’s students achieved grades 7-9, compared to only 22% nationally.

It wasn’t only the very top grades where their students achieved more than they might have hoped. An impressive 81% of their GCSE students achieved grades 5-9, compared with only 57% nationally.

The numbers don’t tell the entire story however, and beyond the grades themselves, students reported that studying with MyEdSpace alleviated pressure and helped them excel. Indeed 84.5% said MyEdSpace made them more confident walking into the exam hall, and 84% stated that their results met or beat their own expectations.

GCSE Maths results

Maths was where the biggest gaps between MyEdSpace’s students and the national picture showed up.

Almost 1 in 4 of their GCSE Maths students achieved a grade 8 or 9, compared with only 1 in 10 nationally. And three-quarters of their GCSE Maths students achieved a grade 5 or above (75%), against a national figure of under half (41%).

GCSE Science results

Across all three sciences, MyEdSpace students achieved higher rates of grades 7-9 than the national average:

  • Biology: 60% of their students achieved grades 7-9, compared with 44% nationally
  • Chemistry: 62% of their students achieved grades 7-9, compared with 47% nationally
  • Physics: 56% of their students achieved grades 7-9, compared with 46% nationally

GCSE English results

Equally impressive were MyEdSpace’s GCSE English students’ results.

In English Literature, their students achieved double the number of grade 9s compared with the national average (6% v 3%), and 1 in 3 achieved grades 7-9 (33%), compared with only 1 in 5 nationally (20%).

In English Language, their students went one better, achieving more than double the number of grade 9s compared with the national average (5% v 2%). Also, more than double the proportion of their students achieved grades 7-9 than the national average, at 32% versus 15%.

 2026 A-level results at a glance

That same pattern of success continued at A-level.

  • 89% of MyEdSpace A-level students achieved a C or above, compared with just over 75% nationally
  • 3 in 4 of their A-level students achieved a B or above (75% – nationally it was just 61%)
  • And, almost half of all their A-level students achieved an A or above (43%), against a national figure of just 39%

Those grades were enough to ensure an impressive 79% of the MyEdSpace 2026 A-level cohort got into their first-choice university.

A-level Maths and Further Maths results

As at GCSE, MyEdSpace’s A-level Maths students again led the way. A whopping 93% of their A-level Maths students achieved a C or above, compared with 78% nationally. And, 83% achieved a B or above, 21 percentage points higher than the national average of 62%.

Their Further Maths students performed strongly too, with 96% achieving a C or above, 5 percentage points higher than the national average of 91%.

A-level Science results

MyEdSpace’s A-level Science students also significantly outperformed their peers across the board:

Biology

  • Almost half of their A-level Biology students achieved an A or above (41%), compared with slightly over a quarter nationally (28%)
  • Almost three-quarters achieved a B or above (74%), compared with around half nationally (51%)
  • 88% achieved a C or above, compared with 72% nationally

Chemistry

  • Almost half of their A-level Chemistry students achieved an A or above (41%), compared with just under a third nationally (32%)
  • Almost three-quarters achieved a B or above (74%), compared with around half nationally (56%)
  • 87% achieved a C or above, compared with only 75% nationally

Physics

  • 60% of their A-level Physics students achieved a B or above, compared with just 54% nationally
  • 85% achieved a C or above, 12 percentage points higher than the national average of 73%

These results speak for themselves, and they point to a simple conclusion: when students get consistent access to the UK’s top teachers, results improve, and MyEdSpace’s 2026 cohort is the latest proof of that.
