Two more Ferrari Challenge trophies were added to Carl Moon’s 2026 season in Budapest after he finished P3 and P2 across the weekend’s two races. The first podium came from a P12 starting position, with Moon gaining nine places in 30 minutes to reach third. Race two then featured a major nine-car crash, but Moon avoided the incident and went on to take second, extending a run of results that has made him an increasingly regular presence near the front this season.

The First Podium Started From the Sixth Row

P12 was hardly the ideal starting point for a 30-minute race. Moon had to make progress almost immediately, and the task became a sustained drive through the field rather than a conventional defence of track position. Nine gained places later, he crossed the line in third. It was a result built around recovery rather than circumstance.

P2 Came After the Weekend’s Biggest Incident

The second race produced the most chaotic moment of the Budapest event when nine cars were involved in a major crash. Several drivers did not finish. Moon came through the incident safely and kept himself in the fight, eventually securing P2 and completing a weekend in which he had reached the podium under two very different sets of conditions.

Le Mans Was the Breakthrough, Portimão Confirmed the Pace

Earlier in the season, Moon had taken P3 at Le Mans during one of motorsport’s most famous race weeks. A further podium at Portimão gave the European campaign continuity and showed that the Le Mans result did not need to stand alone. Budapest has now added two more top-three finishes to that progression.

Rudskogen Added P1, P1 and P3 to the Same Season

Moon’s Scandinavian programme has developed alongside Ferrari Challenge Europe. At Rudskogen Motorsenter in August, he won the opening two Formula GT Challenge races and finished third in the final heat. Pole position and a fastest lap added to the weekend, while the points haul moved him from seventh to fourth in the standings after missing the previous round.

A Much Stronger Résumé Heads to Ferrari Finali Mondiali

The sequence heading into Barcelona now reads very differently from the start of the year. Moon has accumulated European podiums, Scandinavian victories and a Budapest weekend in which he proved capable of recovering from deep in the field. Ferrari Finali Mondiali will be the next chance to turn that momentum into another result on a major Ferrari stage. With Budapest complete, the focus now shifts to how the season can be finished by Carl Moon.
