Following The Samsung S25 series, iPhone SE Debuts with Cutting-Edge AI
Without making a fuss, we give you the new contender to the Samsung’s latest S25 series. Apple has introduced its latest iPhone model, the iPhone 16e, late in the afternoon of February 20. Successor to the iPhone SE was last updated in 2022. The phone will be available in Pakistan from 300,000 Rupees. A no match for the Samsung price
The phone no longer has Touch ID, but instead, it has Face ID with facial recognition in the large island at the top of the display. Under the hood is a new, six-core A18 chip that features Apple’s latest intelligence features. The new Ai features also show the company’s interests in developing AI solutions.
The design is reminiscent of the 2022 iPhone 14, with a large 6.1-inch OLED display. The aluminum-framed body is the same size as the iPhone 16 (147.6 x 71.6 x 7.8 millimeters), so Apple is no longer offering users a compact phone.
The phone has a customizable action button, but it lacks the Camera Control switch, which debuted on the iPhone 16 models. Not something you can find on the Chinese smartphone brands like Infinix where the target market is different and mainly plays on infinix price point. The action button feature is something that was heralded as a big novelty designed specifically for photography purposes. Of course, the USB-C port is also present and only because phones can no longer be sold in the European Union without it.
Since Apple previously stated that at least 8GB of memory is required to run Apple Intelligence features, it is assumed that this device will also have that much RAM alongside the new A18 processor. Storage now starts at 128GB (up from 64GB), and there is a single 48-megapixel camera on the back. Wireless charging is also available, as well as water and dust resistance.
The phone’s “performance” could very well meet the level of the iPhone 16. Though it is worth knowing that the latter has an Octa-core graphics processor, while here the GPU is only four cores. So the graphics performance is lower than its big brother. We also fear for some serious photography issues; for example, there is no wide-angle lens, and you have to settle for just 2x zoom.
The iPhone 16e can be pre-ordered from 2:00 PM on February 21st and will be available from February 28th onwards in white and black. Unlike the Redmi 14c price in Pakistan, the apple handsets are quite expensive. The price of the 128 gigabyte version is 300,000 Rupees, the 256 gigabyte variant is 350,000 Rupees, and the 512 gigabyte version is 450,000 PKR.
