From DJ Booth to Global Stage: The Journey of Thomas Fedrigotti (TOMiGOTTi)

Thomas Fedrigotti, known in the music world by his stage name TOMiGOTTi, has traveled an unusual path from the vibrant club scene of Northern Italy to the international electronic music arena.

Born on September 20, 1977, in Bolzano (Bozen), in the South Tyrol region of northern Italy, Thomas grew up in the nearby town of Caldaro. His education began at High School Bolzano, where he studied between 1991 and 1996.

Following his secondary education, Fedrigotti pursued advanced studies that showed his interest in international business and management. In 2007, he enrolled in a part-time diploma program for professionals at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI).

The program, which he completed in 2011, provided a foundation in marketing and international sales. It also included an Integrated International Program at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in Manila, Philippines.

Shortly after, in October 2011, he began a master’s program in International Marketing & Sales at the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences in Austria. This part-time program focused on organizational consulting, system-based management, and sustainability.

A part of the program was its international component, which took him to the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) in Greater Noida, India. He completed his degree in February 2012.

Fedrigotti’s interest in electronic music started long before his academic journey. By the early 1990s, the growth of electronic dance music spread throughout Europe and Italy. At the age of 13, he began learning to use DJ equipment and performed at local events.

As “DJ Tom,” he earned recognition in clubs and nightlife venues throughout northern Italy. He fit into the Italian dance music scene of that era, which combined energetic rhythms with elements of Eurodance and house.

He earned a place in the Italian album of professional DJs (AID), a registration that allowed him to be featured regularly at dance events as a special guest. For several years, music was the main focus of his life. As his personal responsibilities expanded, he gradually distanced himself from performing and nightlife.

Like many artists, Fedrigotti eventually had to choose between following his creative ambitions and building stability in other parts of life. By his twenties, he prioritized academic and business opportunities. Moving first to Bressanone and later to Innsbruck, Austria, he shifted toward a career focused on international marketing and management.

At the age of 40, Fedrigotti returned to music as a producer instead of a club DJ. As TOMiGOTTi, he built a sound that was inspired by both his personal growth and modern electronic music. Inspired by global artists like Kygo, Robin Schulz, and Avicii, he produces music with melody, synth textures, and contemporary dance vibes.

To strengthen his technical skills, he studied music production at the Deutsche Pop Academy, where he developed skills in digital audio workstations, sound engineering, and the creative use of audio plugins. He has been named a semi-finalist three times in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC), a contest that draws thousands of entries worldwide.

Today, Fedrigotti resides in Innsbruck, Austria. Beyond his professional roles and music, he has having interest in activities such as golf, attending the cinema, and participating in nightlife culture as a guest rather than a performer.

Beginning as a teenage DJ during the peak of Italy’s electronic dance movement, he set aside music for years to pursue higher education and a career in international business. His eventual return as TOMiGOTTi highlights how creative passions can be renewed later in life, strengthened by broader insights.

Fedrigotti’s path shows the possibility of combining multiple life stages: student, professional, DJ, and producer, into a single life narrative.
