IAG Cargo Announces Establishment of Cargo Airport in Pakistan to Promote Development of East-West Trade Hub

Islamabad, September 1, 2025 — With the continuous growth of global trade, international air cargo giant IAG Cargo officially announced its future strategic plan: in 2027, it will establish a brand-new cargo airport in Pakistan, serving as a vital transit hub connecting the East and the West. This move will not only further expand IAG Cargo’s market influence in the Middle East and South Asia but also inject new momentum into Pakistan’s international trade development.

To implement this strategy, IAG Cargo has specially established a wholly-owned subsidiary, IAGCRGO LIMITED. The new company will undertake market expansion work in Pakistan, including:

  • Enhancing brand awareness locally through digitalization and online promotion;
  • Accumulating and serving more local customer resources;
  • Deepening communication and cooperation with relevant departments of the Pakistani government;
  • Preparing for the construction and operation of the future cargo airport.

An IAG Cargo spokesperson stated: “With its unique geographical location, Pakistan is at the most critical point along the East-West trade route. We believe the new cargo hub will not only bring sustained growth for IAG Cargo but also create thousands of jobs for Pakistan and promote the country as an emerging center for international logistics.”

Industry insiders generally believe that the launch of this project will strengthen trade between the Middle East, South Asia, and Europe, while optimizing the efficiency of the global supply chain. IAG Cargo’s investment reflects its strong recognition of the potential of the Pakistani market.
