Igor Fishelev: Education and Professional Journey

Igor Fishelev graduated from Ural State University with a degree in physics and continued his studies in the postgraduate program at the Institute of Metal Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In 1991 he co-founded Link, one of the region’s first joint-stock companies. As Vice President, Fishelev managed investment projects and oversaw the company’s foreign economic activities, gaining hands-on experience in navigating regulatory changes and establishing international trade relationships.

In 1994, Igor Fishelev joined Mitsui & Co. Ltd., a major Japanese trading corporation, and by 1995 became head of its Yekaterinburg office. He coordinated export and import operations across various industries, connecting Russian enterprises with global partners. This role gave him deep insight into international business practices, cross-cultural management, and the dynamics of global markets.

In 2000, drawing on his extensive experience, Mr. Fishelev founded Unimatic, a company specializing in industrial equipment supply and engineering solutions for the machine-building sector. Under his leadership, the company established partnerships with leading global manufacturers.

In 2018, Igor Fishelev transferred full ownership and management of Unimatic to his son, Oleg Fishelev, completing a planned generational transition. Since then, he has focused on supporting technology startups and mentoring innovators, applying his expertise to foster growth and innovation in high-tech industries.
