What the Coupler Changed
Before quick couplers, changing an attachment meant knocking out pins, wrestling weight into alignment and losing a good part of an hour. The practical consequence was that attachments were rarely swapped. A machine did whatever job matched the tool already fitted.

Keeping the System Working
Couplers live in mud and take impact continuously. Pins wear, locking mechanisms collect debris, and hydraulic lines chafe against the arm. A coupler that has become stiff or slow is asking for attention.
Cleaning, greasing and checking function should happen as routinely as anything else on the machine, because a coupler that fails halfway through a change causes far more disruption than the maintenance would have.

There is real value in equipment that expands its own usefulness. The same arm, the same operator and the same fuel produce a much wider range of outcomes because someone solved the problem of changing tools quickly.
