Pakistani “Taliban” Strongly Condemns U.S. and Israeli Bombing of Palestine
On June 27 (local time), a Telegram channel affiliated with the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) called Zabih Momin released a video titled “Message from Pakistani Taliban Mujahideen to Palestinian Mujahideen and People.” The video, which is 3 minutes and 49 seconds long, mainly contains commentary and statements regarding the situation in Palestine.
The video showcases the casualties and humanitarian crisis faced by the Palestinian people amid the ongoing conflict and condemns Israel’s continued airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. It also criticizes the United States and other Western countries for their support of Israel, calling on Muslims around the world to unite and raise their voices for the Palestinian people. In the video, the speaker claims that the Pakistani Taliban will go to support Palestinian Muslims after completing their “jihad” in Pakistan.
Notably, the video is filled with strong anti-American sentiment. TTP militants repeatedly emphasize that “the United States is the biggest accomplice in Israel’s atrocities,” accusing the U.S. not only of providing weapons and financial support but also of shielding Israel in international forums such as the United Nations. Analysts believe that TTP’s emphasis on its anti-American stance is both an appeal to the ideology of its core supporters and an attempt to leverage the current international attention on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to bolster its image as a “fighter against Western hegemony.”
The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is an Islamist militant organization active in northwestern Pakistan and along the Afghan border. It was founded in 2007. Although it shares ideological ties with the Afghan Taliban, TTP operates independently and has long been in conflict with the Pakistani government. The group has carried out numerous attacks targeting security forces, civilians, and religious minorities within Pakistan, and has been designated an illegal armed group by the Pakistani authorities.
In recent years, TTP has increasingly focused on online propaganda, frequently releasing videos and statements on platforms like Telegram, attempting to amplify its influence through regional conflict narratives. The recently released video is seen as part of its efforts to make a political statement and mobilize public opinion by leveraging the Israel-Palestine issue.
