Pghinvestment Sets Out Why Swap-Free Accounts Belong in the Standard Tier Range
Pghinvestment, which operates a multi-asset trading platform across global markets, has set out the reasoning behind the swap-free account structure available at selected levels of its account range. The option allows clients who observe Islamic finance principles to hold positions without overnight interest adjustments, and the brand describes it as a requirement of serving a global client base properly, not a specialist add-on.
What a swap-free structure changes
On a standard account, positions held overnight are subject to a financing adjustment reflecting the interest differential between the instruments involved. For a client observing Islamic finance principles, that adjustment is not something to be weighed against the spread. It is the thing that makes the account unusable. The practical consequence is that a trader who is otherwise well suited to the platform cannot hold a position past the close. Any strategy that depends on time, which is most of them beyond intraday, becomes unavailable.
“A client either can use the account or they cannot, and for a long time this industry treated that as an edge case,” said John Meyer, chief executive of Pghinvestment. “It is not an edge case. It is a large number of capable people being told the product was not designed with them in mind, usually without anyone saying so directly.”
How it sits within the account range
The swap-free structure sits inside the Pghinvestment account range instead of standing as a separate product line, which means a client using it has access to the same instruments, the same platform and the same safeguards as any other client at that level. Positions can be held across currencies, equities, metals, indices, commodities and digital assets from the same account.
Negative-balance protection applies to swap-free accounts on the same terms as every other account type, so a balance cannot be taken past zero whatever a market does. Identity and compliance checks follow the same process, and clients testing an approach beforehand do so under the same conditions a funded account meets.
“The thing we were careful about was not building a lesser version,” Meyer said. “If the swap-free account had fewer instruments or weaker protections, we would have solved the technical problem and missed the point of solving it.”
Part of a wider access position
The brand frames the structure alongside other decisions aimed at keeping the platform usable across differing circumstances: a low opening threshold, several funding methods and managed structures such as PAMM, MAM and Copy Trading for clients who would sooner allocate alongside a more experienced trader than place every position themselves.
Pghinvestment said its restricted-jurisdiction policy is unchanged and that account conditions, including swap-free terms, are set out in its account documentation. The brand added that it expects demand for the structure to keep rising as participation grows across markets where it has historically been underprovided.
Trading carries a genuine risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Clients should only commit capital they can afford to lose.
