TOUR Championship 2025: Everything You Need to Know

The TOUR Championship has become the most attended outdoor sporting event of the summer in Atlanta, Georgia. The PGA TOUR’s best 30 players compete to win the title of FedExCup Champion. The event takes place from August 20 to 24 at the East Lake Golf Club. The private golf club is located about five miles east of downtown Atlanta. It has undergone renovations to make it challenging enough to test the best golfers in the game.

FedExCup Playoffs

Sports bettors enjoy testing their skills in predicting which players will make it to East Lake. They also enjoy predicting how they will fare once they reach the TOUR Championship. Fans of golf in Pennsylvania are now able to engage in legal PA sports betting and are likely to be placing many types of bets on the playoff events and the TOUR Championship.

The FedExCup regular season consists of 36 official events. TOUR members earn points based on their finish at each event. The 70 players with the highest number of points are eligible to play in the FedExCup Playoffs.

The Playoffs consist of three events. A field of 70 players plays in the FedEx St. Jude Championship. At the BMW Championship, the field consists of 50 players. The TOUR Championship at East Lake features 30 players, and this determines the FedExCup champion. A change this year is that all players start at even par. In previous years, top-ranked golfers started with a scoring advantage based on their season’s rankings.

The final event of the regular season ends

The Wyndham Championship is the final event of the regular season. It ended recently, and Cameron Young finally got his first PGA TOUR victory after seven runner-up finishes. Cameron was in the lead from early on when he shot five straight birdies, and he eventually won by six shots.

With his tie for fifth place, Chris Kirk moved up into the top 70. After the Wyndham Championship, the 70 golfers at the top in the standings earn entry into the postseason. Next to take place is the first of the playoff events – the St. Jude Championship in Memphis.

What fans should know

Tickets

Tickets are now on sale for the TOUR Championship, and this year, children of 15 and under get in free with an adult ticket holder. The idea is to make the event more accessible to families.

Gates and parking

The gates open at 9 am on August 20 and at 10 am from August 21 to 24. Ticket purchases don’t include parking passes. Fans should purchase parking passes online and need a separate one for each day.

Transportation

Rideshare makes it easy to get to and from East Lake Golf Club, regardless of where fans stay in the Metro Atlanta area. They need to enter ‘TOUR Championship’ as the designation, and they will be directed to the designated lot. With the dedicated drop-off and pick-up area on 2nd Avenue, fans are close to the golf action when they enter through the Rideshare Gate. They can rest in a rideshare lounge while waiting for a ride home.

Payments and bags

All transactions at the tournament are cashless. Fans can bring bags with them if they meet certain requirements. For example, they can bring their own food in a gallon-sized clear plastic bag with food items in clear wrap.

TOUR Champion

The top 10 changed a little after the Wyndham Championship, but Scottie Scheffler still holds the lead. He didn’t have to compete at Wyndham to maintain his position in points. In 2024, he won the FedExCup and his 13th PGA TOUR title. He is one of the most impressive current golf champions and the first since Tiger Woods to have seven TOUR wins in a season.

Rory McIlroy is second in points, and Ben Griffin is tied in 11th place and moved past Harris English to sixth in points. Sepp Straka, Russell Henley, and Justin Thomas are third, fourth, and fifth in points. Now the race for the FedExCup is on.

At the TOUR Championship this year, the player with the lowest stroke total over 72 holes wins the FedExCup. The player earns a bonus of $10 million and receives a five-year PGA TOUR exemption.
