Wireless Energy Harvesting Using AI Being Developed at the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park
Researchers at the University of Sharjah have filed two patents for AI driven wireless energy harvesting technology, in conjunction with their work with the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP). The innovation converts radio frequency (RF) into electricity by focusing wireless signals in specific directions using software guided by artificial intelligence, for improvements in efficiency and range.
With interest already being expressed by the Defense and Renewable Energy sectors, the technology is poised to breakthrough to a wider audience. Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTIP, said: “This technology is in it’s infancy, but we look forward to developing it with our partners”. He continues: “we are planning to offer public demonstrations in the upcoming months.”
