Zil Money Highlights Outbound RTP for Time-Sensitive Business Payments

Businesses can use Zil Money’s Real-Time Payments option to send eligible payments around the clock to accounts at participating financial institutions, with delivery typically completed within seconds.

TYLER, TX, USA – September 2, 2026 – Zil Money, a business payment platform with more than one million online business accounts, is highlighting its outbound Real-Time Payments capability for businesses that need to send time-sensitive payments outside traditional processing windows. Zil Money currently supports sending RTP payments rather than receiving them.

For a business facing a Friday-night equipment repair, an urgent supplier obligation or another payment that cannot wait for the next banking day, the timing of the payment rail can matter as much as the payment itself.

The RTP network, operated by The Clearing House, runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and bank holidays. Payments clear and settle individually in real time rather than through an ACH batch, and receiving financial institutions generally make funds available immediately, subject to limited exceptions in the network rules.

Zil Money states that eligible RTP payments are typically delivered within seconds. Availability depends on the recipient financial institution’s participation in The Clearing House RTP network and is subject to verification, transaction limits and processing restrictions.

Interest in real-time B2B payments is also increasing among finance teams. A May 2026 PYMNTS Intelligence report produced with The Clearing House found that among firms in its study that were not already using the RTP network, 53% expected to begin using it within two years. That included 29% expecting to start within six months. The study surveyed 271 senior finance and payments executives at companies with at least $1 million in annual revenue that had sent B2B payments during the previous 12 months; the RTP adoption-timing analysis covered 253 firms that were not already using RTP.

For finance teams, RTP also changes the controls required around urgent payments. The Clearing House describes RTP payments as final and irrevocable once submitted to the network, although participating institutions can send a request for funds to be returned. Businesses should therefore confirm recipient information and follow appropriate payment-approval procedures before sending.

Zil Money offers RTP alongside other business payment options including ACH, wire transfers and checks, giving businesses different payment methods for routine and time-sensitive obligations.
