DesignNBuy Adds Sticker Design and Step & Repeat Capabilities to Its Web-to-Print Platform

DesignNBuy, a web-to-print software provider serving print businesses in more than 60 countries, has released a major update to its DesignO product personalization platform. The update introduces complete sticker product support and a new Step and Repeat pattern tool, expanding the range of products that print businesses can sell and personalize through their online storefronts.

Sticker design with text and image support

The new sticker capabilities allow print businesses to offer five sticker types through their online stores: die-cut, rectangle, oval, circle, and custom shape stickers. End customers can design stickers directly in the browser-based editor, adding text, images, clipart, and other design elements before placing an order.

This marks a notable departure from how most online sticker design tools operate. The majority of sticker editors available to print businesses today support image placement only. Customers can upload graphics or select from image libraries, but they cannot add text to their sticker designs within the editor. If a customer needs a sticker with both a logo and a tagline, they typically have to prepare the complete artwork offline and upload it as a finished file.

DesignO’s sticker workflow removes that restriction, allowing text and images to coexist in the same design canvas regardless of the sticker shape.

“There is no reason a sticker editor should be limited to images only,” said Abhishek Agarwal, CMO of DesignNBuy. “Our customers sell stickers alongside business cards, labels, and packaging. The sticker design experience should match what is already available for those products. With this update, it does.”

The custom shape sticker option goes a step further, allowing customers to upload artwork and apply custom die-cut paths using built-in design tools. This makes it possible to create fully personalized sticker shapes without requiring external design software.

Step and Repeat pattern tool

Alongside sticker support, the update introduces a Step and Repeat feature that automates the duplication of design elements across a canvas. Users can control the number of copies, spacing, and repeat direction. An Auto Fill mode offers advanced pattern options including Full Drop, Half Drop, Brick, Center, Vertical, and Mirror layouts.

The tool is designed to serve multiple print verticals at once. Key use cases include:

  • Digital textile and fabric printing: Creating repeating surface patterns for fabrics directly in the online editor
  • Wallpaper printing: Building continuous repeating wall designs without desktop software
  • Event and media backdrops: Generating branded step-and-repeat walls with repeating logos for press events, trade shows, and corporate functions
  • DTF gang sheet creation: Arranging duplicated designs efficiently on Direct-to-Film transfer sheets to minimize material waste
  • Branding and promotional layouts: Producing repeating logo patterns for wrapping paper, packaging liners, and retail displays

“Step and Repeat is a production-ready feature, not just a design convenience,” Abhishek Agarwal said. “A print business that enables this on their storefront can immediately start taking orders for wallpaper, fabric prints, event backdrops, and DTF transfers. It opens new revenue streams without requiring new infrastructure.”
