The Marvels: Everything We Know So Far
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) confirmed The Marvels in July 2019 as a sequel to Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and WandaVision. The official production of the movie began in early 2020.
After several delays, Marvel Studios released what appeared to be the final trailer of The Marvels on August 23. This hinted that the anticipated movie is among MCU’s phase five big-screen releases.
We have gathered information about the movie’s plot, casting, and official release date from the official trailer and other updates.
Let’s dive in.
The Marvels Release Date?
After the final filming of The Marvels in May 2022, Marvel Studios slated July 2022 as the movie’s release date. The company moved the release date to November 2022 and later to February 2023. The screening didn’t materialize, and MCU pushed the movie launch to July 2023. That didn’t work, and the company booked it for the current release date, November 10, 2023.
Once the movie is released, it will be available on Disney Plus. As you count down to the release date, there is a collection of Marvel’s consoles you can try—both new and old superhero games. Check out Guardians of the Galaxy, Midnight Suns, and Spider-Man 2 (to be released on 20 October 2023), among other titles. You can also team up with icons like Spider-Man and Black Panther at Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park.

What Is The Marvels Plot?
In the film industry, genres don’t work; stories do. The plot is designed from the stories, and below, we have tried to summarise it for you.
Although The Marvels plot appears as a secret, we can put together its synopsis, thanks to previous events surrounding the lead characters. In a post-credits scene during phase 4 of MCU (Ms. Marvel), Carol Danvers swaps places with Kamala Khan.
From the official trailer, we can tell that every time Danvers, Kamala, or Monica use their abilities, they switch places. Their powers are entangled, meaning they have a common mission of saving the universe.
The trio faces a new threat from Dar-Benn. She’s the villain and a Kree imperialist on a mission to destroy Carol Danvers. Dar-Benn uses a bangle similar to that that activated Kamala’s powers in Ms. Marvel.
Who Is In the Cast of The Marvels?
The Marvels will feature three female leads: Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan, and Monica Rambeau.
Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. She appears as half-Kree and half-human, making her a super interplanetary Avenger. Imani Vellani plays Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel. She possesses mutant abilities, unlocked from the mysterious “magical bangle” in Ms. Marvel. The film also features Kamala Khan’s family (Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur). The trio will play the same roles as in Ms. Marvel—elder brother (Aamir), mother (Muneeba), and father (Yusuf), respectively.
Teyonah Parris, a SWORD agent and a SABER astronaut, takes the role of Monica Rambeau. She has the power to absorb energy gained during WandaVision. Monica met Danvers in Captain Marvel as a child, though. Her mother, Maria Rambeau, was Danvers’ best friend and served as a U.S. Air Force pilot.
After appearing in the Disney+ series Secret Invasion, Samuel L. Jackson will reprise the Nick Fury role. Zawe Ashton plays Dar-Benn, the movie’s villain. In the trailer, Dar-Benn possesses a Universal Weapon that gives her powers to oppose Danvers, Kamala, and Monica.
Other supporting casts include Goose the Flerken (featured in Captain Marvel) and Park Seo-Joon as Prince Yan.
Who Are the Makers of The Marvels?
The Marvels is written by Nia DaCosta, Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karaski, and Zeb Wells. DaCosta is also the movie’s director, with Sean Bobbitt as the head of cinematography. Kevin Feige is the producer, and Mathew Jenkins and Mary Livanos are executive producers.
Cara Brower is the production designer, and Lindsay Pugh is the costume designer. Laura Karpman is the original soundtrack composer, with Catrin Hedstrom doing the editing. The production credits go to Marvel Studios, while Disney Studios Motion Pictures is responsible for the movie’s distribution.
