“Behind the Screens: A Day with a TikTok Trendsetter”

Thank you for joining us. You have grown your social following to 520k and helped YouTubers gain more than 5 Million followers and more than 10 Billion views. These are all impressive metrics. In a quick glimpse, what does the next year look like for you?

Wow, when you see the actual numbers, it puts things into perspective! I will keep pushing hard on social media, and with the TikTok ban looming, it’s an excellent opportunity to rethink my strategy and dive deeper into StoryWeave on YouTube. This will be my first long-form channel, and I’m excited to explore some of the most incredible stories about the human experience. I’ll still be working with brands and helping companies grow online, but my focus will shift away from my personal growth on social media and toward building this new company and vision.

Speaking of Company growth, I found you because a friend from Kellogg’s highly recommended you. Could you talk more about your work with brands and what you do?

Hearing that excites me so much—I wish I could! I’ve been a creative director for the last five years, assisting more than fifty businesses in developing their social media brand voices. My area of expertise is using humor and meeting people where they are online to help brands engage with their audiences. I’ve been able to pitch some pretty crazy ideas that became viral hits, but some brands are more stringent about what I can post. It’s so fulfilling to find ways to support these brands in developing genuine relationships with their communities! 

You have been able to connect deeply with your community in the past. Is there any reason you are moving away from creating RealRobertFrancis content? 

I wouldn’t say I’m moving away from content creation on my main account—it’s more like I’m diving headfirst into developing another channel. Over the past year, I felt like I’d lost some of the passion that initially made my social platforms thrive and put me on the map. And if you’ve ever heard me talk about brand vision, you know that’s not a good thing—haha! Fortunately, StoryWeave is a channel that has wholly rekindled my passion for storytelling and content production. Creating content that genuinely excites me and watching it come to life on screen is a huge thrill.

Awesome. Well, it’s been really fun speaking with you today, Robert. Are there any thoughts or notes you want to leave with us before we close out?

No. Not at all. Remember, however, that I sounded excessive to some by saying this. But it’s still valid even if it goes differently than planned. To illustrate, I went to Los Angeles with the purpose of being an actor, only to find out that digital content creation is what I’m good at. The move of faith I made was a different one from that being planned, but it was what got me to where I am today. Therefore, it is okay sometimes to make the first step without having a clear vision of what lies ahead if you want to find satisfying matters in life and careers.
