Gazan Residents Under Attack From Hamas, Palestinian Boy Shot and Killed by Hamas in Gaza
The situation on the Hamas end continued to go sideways and even downhill, with the terror group opening fire on Gazans on December 24. This time, the targets are its residents, and the reason is simple: aid.
With the continued bombardment of the Gaza Strip by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to root out Hamas and related terrorist groups, the situation has led the Gazan residents to go on an endless search for necessities.
The events come after the IDF recently discovered a four-kilometer tunnel used by the terrorists to smuggle arms and the subsequent destruction of the underground network of tunnels underneath Palestine Square which served as a headquarters for the Hamas operational leadership.

The small amounts of aid that flow into the strip from the Rafah border crossing end up (usually) in the hands of Hamas and other terror groups rather than the civilian population as agreed to by the Hamas and Gazan authorities to donors.
The situation is counterintuitive to the popular narrative dispersed by pro-Palestinian news sources, who accuse the IDF of crimes they did not commit to attract sympathy for the terrorist group and its sister organizations.
In the end, Hamas takes the donated materials by force, which are used in the continued conflict, rather than to aid the Strip’s population.
On the diplomatic front, Israel has agreed alongside the United States to a recent UN Security Council resolution that increases humanitarian assistance. How the flow of aid is controlled and distributed to the populace rather than to terrorist groups remains unclear.
Previous attempts by the Security Council didn’t cover the humanitarian angle that could have improved efforts to give the civilians breathing space and a level of supplies that could have been close to the twenty trucks daily that flowed through the Rafah border crossing before October.
Also, on December 19, David Barnea, the Mossad Chief recently met with Bill Burns, the CIA Director, and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatari Prime Minister, in Warsaw, Poland, over negotiations that could aid the release of more hostages held by Hamas and its sister organizations.
The deal as proposed by Israel via Qatari mediators includes an offer to pause fighting for one week. The discussions come after a previous deal that led to a seven-day ceasefire and the release of over one hundred hostages fell apart last month.
Hamas Rules Gaza by Fear
Since Fatah’s removal in 2007 and the subsequent replacement by Hamas, there haven’t been elections in Gaza, with the terrorist group ruling by fiat. To undiscerning outsiders, the group may seem like a political organization with a paramilitary unit, but insiders and its ultimate target (Israel) know better.
The Hamas ecosystem actively supports its violent activities and brings about its purported mission to exterminate the Jewish State. The group uses aid received from across the world to do everything it can to bring this to pass but with little success.
Ismail, Haniyeh, the supposed leader, continues to give instructions from afar while Gaza residents suffer daily, even before the sad events of October 7.
The Hamas Police are Against Palestinian Civilians
Videos surfaced on December 24, with Gaza residents reporting that the state security apparatus opened fire on innocent civilians.
The Hamas Police, who should serve and protect civilians, turned on them in Khan Yunis. Sources attribute the actions to the desperation of the terrorists for aid.
It appears that the terrorists shot and killed Ahmad Barika, a member of the Barika family in Tel a-sultan, western Rafah (southern strip), in an attempt to prevent him from reaching aid trucks.
The crowds burnt a Hamas Police Station to the ground and tires in response. Additionally, they blamed Officer Omar Abu Halal for the headshot, swearing revenge for the action.

The situation puts aid trucks arriving via the Rafah crossing in peril, as the continued act of violence against civilians poses the potential for internal strife in the Gaza Strip as a whole.
Other emerging videos indicate that such actions by Hamas are a regular thing. Gaza’s residents now publicly admit that they’re being killed regularly by Hamas. These incidences of unreported violence usually go under the radar without being recorded by human rights organizations.
That, however, is changing with a population that seeks an end to the rule of fear by Hamas. It seems the Hamas authority’s tendencies for violence won’t remain hidden or brushed aside for too long, despite narratives to the contrary.
One day, maybe soon, the residents may react via an uprising.
