Three Best Horror Parks in Canada

If you are into some adrenaline then probably horror attraction parks and haunted houses are your style. Canada has many entertainment and attraction parks but not all of them have these haunted houses, and even if they do, not each haunted house or maze is worth checking out.

In this post, we highlight three of the biggest and most impressive horror park attractions in the country.

Nightmares Fear Factory (Niagara Falls, Ontario)

This is the longest-running haunted house and attraction park in North America. Because Niagara Falls is such a tourist place, probably this is one of the reasons why this park survived so long. The park itself is located in a place that was believed to be haunted because earlier, there was a coffin factory there.

This haunted house attraction park works all year long but the best thing about it is that changes its terrifying equipment four times a year. This way it keeps the impressions fresh.

Niagara Falls has many attractions but the Nightmares Fear Factory is one of the top ones. It has a reputation for being seriously creepy, with some visitors quitting several seconds after entering. The park keeps its stats, showing that around 140,000 visitors left early while around 100,000 per year proceeded.

If you are an experienced tourist and traveler and you are hard to impress, this place in Niagara Falls will definitely provide some new experiences.

The majority of the factory’s features are kept secret to keep the public in suspense. However, there are some rules that should be followed so probably you should consider them before you go.

First things first, children under six are not allowed to the haunted house, even with parents. Children from six to thirteen are only allowed with parents but there is no refund of the ticket if the child gets too scared. So parents should use their best judgment when making decisions about their kids visiting.

To keep the experience really scary, the park only allows small groups of up to six people at once, while the recommended group size is four. However, if there is a group of 15 or more people, the park gives discounts. In a certain sense, Nightmares Fear Factory is great for team-building events, school trips, weddings, birthdays, etc.

Also, the haunted house attraction is not available to everyone (in addition to age limitations). Pregnancy and heart conditions are two limitations that prevent from entering for obvious reasons. Also, people with mobility issues or those in wheelchairs cannot use the haunted house attraction because they will not be able to navigate the maze.

The park gives no refunds on the attraction, even if you get very scared or you decide to leave early. There is an option for leaving very early when you only start the journey but later, when you are already in the center of the maze, you cannot go back and you have to go all the way.

Photos or videos inside are not allowed to keep the features in secret but all visitors will get their pictures to remember the scary fun.

Haunt Manor – Hayrides & Haunted Houses (Niagara Falls, Ontario)

Haunt Manor offers a thrilling mix of attractions, including a theatrical hayride, a cedar maze, and six different haunted houses and mazes. Every year, the theme changes, giving visitors a fresh experience with new characters and haunted settings. This works pretty much like in other niches where you have your favorite location which is the same – like Bitstarz casino for playing games – but the offers are updated every time, so every time it is fresh.

The attraction starts right from the parking lot. The team consists of around 100 actors and the designs of the location are truly terrifying. After you get the tickets, the recommendation is to start from the hayride and only then move on to the other attractions.

There is a corn maze that has three different haunted areas and the Pew Barn house also has three interconnected haunted locations. If the visitors are lucky, they can also watch the Dark Magic show with an illusionist.

While young children, pregnant women, and people with heart issues are not allowed to the location, this park in a certain sense is a bit more family-friendly than the Nightmares Fear Factory. You can order a group tour, and it is perfect for family visits with teenage children.

Cannington Haunted Attraction (Cannington, Ontario)

This haunted horse only works once a year in October but it is totally worth visiting. The team invents a new legend behind their decorations every year so it is a new scare every time.

The facility has two outdoor wooden trails and an indoor barn maze that features all the chilling horror-filled environments. The very decorations and setup are made in a way that creates the necessary atmosphere and provides the scare but the team of live actors also does a very good job, shocking the visitors in very unexpected ways.

In addition to the main haunted location, visitors can enjoy a mini-escape room, check out the food and craft vendors in a small market, or see a spooky decorated museum.
