Each booster is capable of boosting only certain frequencies that comply with mobile communication standards: GSM (voice calls without the Internet), 2G, 3G, and 4G.

The frequency range corresponds to generations of the standard: some operate at frequencies from 900 to 1800, which corresponds to 2G, and others in the 3G and 4G range. Those that can operate in several frequency ranges are more expensive.

Gain is measured in decibels, and the higher it is, the better the signal will come from the station. The selection of the coefficient depends on the distance from the base station and the area that needs to be covered with a good signal.

To amplify the Internet signal, devices with a coefficient of 7 to 18 dB are used, and for mobile communication amplifiers a coefficient of 25-50 dB is required in an urban landscape.

  • operating frequency range in the telephone-exchange direction;
  • operating frequency range in the station-telephone direction;
  • communication standards: only 2G, 3G, and 4G, or all three at once;
  • gain factor, which affects both the quality of calls and the speed of mobile Internet;
  • consumption current;
  • supply voltage;

When choosing, keep in mind that low frequency means the maximum range of signal propagation, but also low speed. Phones will tend to connect to high-speed networks, even if their signal is weak.
