2024 travel trends: spontaneity and diversity, the new kings
The company hotels.com has published a study about 2024 travel trends that reveals that users plan to make their trips spontaneously, in response to restrictions suffered during Covid-19.
The study has revealed how this new desire for spontaneity will have a domino effect in the hotel and travel industry. Proof of this is that more than a quarter of those surveyed reveal that they would say yes to more last minute trips (26%).
We know that 2020 has changed all the rules of the game, and 35% say they would travel to more than one destination, and about 33% would go on a long-distance trip for just one weekend. Another 25% would not make any plans and would be carried away by spontaneity.
What effects do 2024 travel trends have on the hotel industry?
The study predicts that this attitude will have a significant impact on the behavior of hotel reservations, as more than a quarter (26%) of the users would now book a better quality hotel room, and almost a third would spontaneously say yes to a room upgrade if offered at the time of booking (27%).
This means an advantage for hotels, which can achieve that WOW effect on their guests by making them feel comfortable, anticipating their needs and being able to respond quickly to their expectations.
The type of services that the surveyed users say they miss the most are: peace and quiet, the buffet breakfast, the hotel restaurant and bar, the possibility of obtaining a room with a view in the establishment where they stay, the possibility of ordering Room Service, use the pool and having additional services such as a spa.
How can hotels take advantage of 2024 travel trends?
All of this shows that there is only one answer to guarantee the success of the establishment: improve the experience. There are solutions on the market to get there and improve the lifestyle of travelers.
A notable example of interactive technology provider for hotels is ZAFIRO, which offers a modular and scalable platform for the hospitality industry, enabling a personalized and connected entertainment experience.
The 2024 travel trends have changed and hotels must adapt to this change, providing services and benefit to each stay.
