Jim Droskinis – A Trailblazer in Leadership, Literature, and Life’s Grand Pursuits.

“…It is a proud privilege to be a soldier – a good soldier … [with] discipline, self-respect, pride in his unit and his country, a high sense of duty and obligation to comrades and to his superiors, and a self-confidence born of demonstrated ability.”

― George S. Patton Jr.

Making the shift from military to civilian life can be difficult and involves special challenges and adaptations. It can be equally challenging to readjust to new routines, expectations, and social dynamics after leaving the often unpredictably regimented military setting and re-entering the frequently structured civilian sector. It can be difficult for veterans to translate their military training and experiences into a language that employers in the civilian workforce can understand. The lack of a structured support network and the need to maneuver through strange bureaucratic procedures might also make the adjustment more difficult. Despite these obstacles, James Droskinis, a retired U.S. military officer, stands as a shining example of an army man turned civilian, fulfilling his desires by spending time doing what he is most enthusiastic about.

James Peter Droskinis, born on February 12, 1953, is a living example of a life lived in style, with notable accomplishments in the corporate sector, military, literary, and even the thrilling world of sports and race car driving. Over the course of an extraordinary seven decades, his journey exemplifies a commitment to achieving goals and an unyielding determination to pursue them.

Pat Droskinis, the father of Droskinis, was a teacher and the Minersville and championship Cass head coach. The book, “Undefeated Untied Unscored Upon,” details how this small high school went an entire season without allowing their opponents a single score…  a true David and Goliath sports story. Droskinis was raised in a family that was very involved in athletics. He attended Penn State University to further his education after graduating from Minersville Area High School as the salutatorian in 1971. He eventually earned a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Corrections in 1975. His commitment to school and military duty was demonstrated by his earning a Master’s Degree in Personnel Management from Central Michigan University, while in the US Army, which demonstrated his continuous scholarly aspirations.

Droskinis enlisted in the United States Army as a Private First Class and was commissioned as an infantry officer in 1977. He served in a variety of command and staff capacities in Wash, D.C., Dallas, TX, and joint service at Clark Airbase, Philippines and many more locations for more than 23 years, making a lasting impact on military operations, particularly during “Operation Just Cause” in Panama in 1989 as the adjutant for Task Force Aviation. Prior to retiring in 1999, he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel with his leadership, devotion, and outstanding service. To continue this tradition of service to country, three of his grandchildren currently serve in the military: two in the Navy and one in the Army.

Droskinis held senior executive positions in multimillion-dollar corporations after a smooth transition from military duty to the defense contracting industry. He was the vice president of Business Development at Vose Technical Systems (VTS), where he oversaw rapid growth and improved operational effectiveness. During his employment at Ginn Group as VP, and Resource Consultants Inc (RCI) as an analyst, he further proved his remarkable capacity to obtain multi-million-dollar contracts, produce income, and lead initiatives that had a significant impact. In his mid-50s, as a venture into the world of intrigue and espionage in combat zones, he served as a civilian in both Baghdad, Iraq and Kabul, Afghanistan as an intel analyst mostly living in safe houses away from military bases. In addition to his business ventures, Droskinis is a prolific writer who shares insights into his experiences in both the military and the civilian world through a number of published publications. These include true novels about the amazing life of the “King of Softball,” Eddie Feighner and Rich Hoppe, who replaced the King, called “Tales of the Last Barnstormer.” (The King and his Court was a four-man famous softball team that played all over the word)  “In the Shadow of a King, detailed the adventures and fame, about the King’s catcher, Dave Booth. His literary works demonstrate his dedication to preserving and disseminating stories in addition to his wide range of experiences.

Droskinis’ opulence transcends his personal life into his professional domains. Living close to Atlanta, Georgia, in Newnan with his spouse Kathi, he is involved in community service as the president of his homeowners’ organization and volunteered at the Fayette Humane Society. His commitment to family life and his membership in the nonprofit Peachstate Corvette Association highlight his depth of character.

In a nutshell, James Peter Droskinis, also a cancer survivor, exemplifies magnificence, skillfully handling the rigors of military duty, business leadership, creative endeavors, and community involvement. His life’s journey inspires others, demonstrating tenacity, devotion, and an unrelenting commitment to greatness.
